Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangketkaew reassured that the proposal to shorten the visa-free stay for tourists from 60 days to 30 days will not negatively impact tourism. The change aims to address misuse of the visa-free period. Sihasak also discussed developments in the Middle East and efforts to assist Thai nationals in a recent seminar for consular officials. Despite the visa policy change, tourists can still extend their stay for tourism purposes. Additionally, discussions on enabling Thai cargo ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz have progressed. The minister also addressed a meeting with a top United States diplomat regarding immigrant visa processing for 75 countries, including Thailand.
