Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry, and fishery exports have seen growth in the first half of 2020, indicating signs of market recovery, according to state media VTV. Despite not performing as well as last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is determined to reach this year’s export target of $54 billion USD, and is working on finding ways to overcome difficulties. Seafood and wood exports have faced challenges due to declining purchasing power in major markets like the US and the EU. However, with the implementation of various solutions and a focus on deep processing and reducing production costs, the industry is expected to continue growing in the coming months. Key areas of focus include quality, food safety, and meeting market requirements. Vietnam is also looking to take advantage of opportunities and overcome technical problems to promote seafood and wood products. The country has set their export target for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products at $54 billion USD for this year.
