A pickup driver in Bangkok, Thailand ran over and killed a motorcycle rider while trying to escape an alcohol test at a police checkpoint. The driver, Pichai Jiangwilawan, reversed his white Toyota Hilux Revo and hit the motorcycle, resulting in the death of the rider. Pichai surrendered to police and admitted to the collision, but denied attempting to evade the alcohol test. The deceased, Worrawit Songrod, worked as a delivery driver and was on his way home when the accident occurred. Pichai could face up to three years in jail or a fine of 200,000 baht for driving recklessly and causing another person’s death.
