Thailand and the United Kingdom are aiming to strengthen their economic ties, with a potential strategic economic partnership on the horizon. The next Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting in November is expected to focus on sectors such as food and drink, health, education, automotive, agriculture, and the digital industry. The countries hope to establish a foothold for future free trade negotiations. Bilateral trade between Thailand and the UK reached $6.20 billion in 2022, with key exports from Thailand including processed chicken and vehicles, and imports from the UK comprising machinery and medical science equipment.
