The districts affected, as revealed by the Meteorological Department, were in Chiang Rai and some of its neighboring area. The earthquake originated in Myanmar at 11.46 pm, approximately 100 kilometers from Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai. The impact was felt in various districts, with high-rise buildings also experiencing shaking. Local government entities quickly assessed potential damages, but no casualties have been reported. This comes after another earthquake struck northern provinces just two days ago.
