The Thai government is planning to establish a dental health department in order to promote oral healthcare across the country, according to the Public Health Ministry. The department is expected to take several years to establish, but the ministry is keen to promote the service to the public as it progresses. As part of its oral health care initiatives, the ministry also plans to launch a dental hospital in each of the nation’s 77 provinces. Additionally, the Praboromarajchanok Institute is set to start recruiting medical students next year to increase the number of doctors serving rural areas.
