A former appellate court judge in Thailand has been sentenced to five years in prison following corruption allegations involving a 20 million baht bribe request. The judge was charged by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) under the Organic Act on Anti-corruption and NACC regulations. The defendant had solicited the bribe from an arrested Taiwanese individual, compromising the integrity of the judicial justice system. Evidence presented during the trial confirmed that the judge had received multiple bribes in 2018. The court also confiscated the defendant’s assets worth 20 million baht.
