Thai Airways International (THAI) is set to exit the court-sanctioned rehabilitation plan ahead of schedule, as the airline’s performance has been steadily improving in line with the recovery of tourism. CEO Chai Eamsiri confirmed that THAI and its subsidiary, Thai Smile Airways, have achieved profitability for four consecutive quarters. In the second quarter of this year, pre-tax profits reached 2.3 billion baht, marking a 171% YoY increase and the highest in 20 years. This positive trend indicates a strong recovery for the airline industry in Thailand.
