MOFA of Taiwan has announced a one-year extension of the trial visa-free entry for nationals of three New Southbound Policy partner countries – Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines. The extension will be effective from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024. This decision was made to promote bilateral exchanges and attract more visitors post-pandemic while ensuring border and public security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to review and refine visa policies to strengthen bilateral relationships and enhance travel convenience for Taiwanese nationals.
