Raids on an illegal surrogacy ring in Bangkok have led to the arrest of one individual suspected to be involved as an agent in the operation. The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) conducted searches at three clinics in Bangkok and a building in Nong Khai as part of an ongoing investigation into the surrogacy ring. The raids were triggered by the discovery that a missing one-year-old toddler was likely a victim of the syndicate. In a previous raid, two infants born to paid surrogate mothers were found, along with evidence of approximately 20 surrogate mothers being hired by an agent. The investigation was expanded when a search warrant led officials to raid three clinics in Bangkok, where medical records and passports of surrogate mothers and their infants were discovered. One individual, Sunate Chomsri, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the surrogacy ring.
