Thailand’s Surat Thani province is experiencing a return to pre-pandemic tourism levels, with both Koh Samui airport and Surat Thani airport seeing a surge in travelers and flights. Koh Samui airport ranked third in terms of flight volume for the month of July, hosting an average of 74 flights per day and transporting 141,454 passengers. Surat Thani airport facilitated the seamless journey of 114,404 passengers. The provincial governor, Wichawut Jinto, highlighted the significance of these numbers and the enormous potential in Surat Thani’s tourism landscape. The Tourism Authority of Thailand reported a rebound in domestic tourism, reaching 93% of pre-pandemic levels.
