Thailand’s State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is progressing with plans for the Red Line Salaya–Nakhon Pathom extension, a 25.3-kilometre route targeted to open in 2033. Additionally, two Red Line extensions are set to start construction in 2026 and open by 2029. The projects include northern and western extensions, with the aim to extend service to Nakhon Pathom city. The planned alignment will have seven intermediate stations and run at ground level. Studies and detailed design are expected to be completed by 2027, followed by construction starting in 2030. Salaya’s role as a university hub could lead to increased demand for housing and support growth in nearby areas.
