Srettha Thavisin of the Pheu Thai Party has been appointed as the new prime minister of Thailand. He paid respect to the portrait of King Maha Vajiralongkorn before delivering a speech on his government’s goals for the next four years, which include reducing inequality and returning Thailand to the international stage. The Pheu Thai Party plans to implement several policies, such as boosting the economy and providing subsidies and increased wages. However, the government still needs to complete certain procedures before commencing work in mid-September. The formation of the new cabinet is expected to be completed within three weeks.
