The Move Forward and Pheu Thai parties are expected to resolve their dispute over the House speakership before the first meeting of the House of Representatives on July 4th. Pheu Thai party leader, Chonlanan Srikaew, stated that once the party adopts a resolution, all Pheu Thai MPs are expected to respect and comply with it. Chonlanan also addressed the possibility of dissident MPs abstaining from voting, emphasizing that MPs have the right to self-expression but are obligated to accept the majority view. The Prachachart party’s suggestion of claiming one of the two deputy speaker posts was dismissed due to their limited number of MPs compared to Move Forward and Pheu Thai.
