Thai Liberal Party’s leader Sereepisuth Temiyaves has resigned as an MP but will continue as the party’s leader. He submitted his resignation to the Election Commission and the Secretariat of The House of Representatives. His resignation will take effect on Friday, with party secretary general Mangkorn Yontrakoon taking his seat in parliament. Sereepisuth’s resignation comes after not being chosen for a cabinet position in Thailand’s new government. He cited lack of voter support for his party as the reason for his resignation. Sereepisuth will now focus on preparing for the next general election.
