Illegal villas in Phuket are being investigated after allegations of unauthorized construction. A complaint lodged by the Chairman of the Gulf of Thailand – Andaman Area Conservation Network prompted the investigation, which focuses on 49 residences located around Phuket International Airport. The buildings in question are said to have violated regulations set forth in the Building Control Act of 1979. The responsible parties for the illegal construction remain unknown. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided once it is complete.
