The conflict between elephants and humans over territory in Loei Province, Thailand, has escalated as elephants from Phu Kradueng invade local communities. Villagers have reported the destruction of their crops and a fear of aggression from the elephants. Authorities are attempting to guide the six elephants back to the forest, but must also increase the understanding of the local population. Tensions between communities have arisen as a result. Additionally, a wild male elephant was found shot dead, raising concerns about human involvement. The upcoming mating season may see the four male elephants returning to the Huai Hinlap Forest.
