The Pheu Thai party has reportedly agreed to concede the House speakership to Move Forward. Even if Move Forward’s prime ministerial candidate, Pita Limjaroenrat, does not receive enough parliamentary votes to become the prime minister, Move Forward will still remain in the coalition. Should Pita fail to become prime minister, Pheu Thai will lead the government while Move Forward stays in the coalition. Both parties have decided that their members should refrain from publicly voicing their opinions on the House speakership issue, as it could impact discussions among the 8 coalition partners.
