In an effort to enhance diplomatic connections and promote tourism, Peru has introduced an art exhibition in Bangkok showcasing revered bull sculptures. The exhibition, entitled “Torito de Pucará: the Ambassador of the Peruvian Highlands,” is a collaboration between Peru’s embassy and the Siam Piwat company. The “Torito” translates to “Little Bull,” and originates from the town of Pucará in southern Peru. The exhibition aims to highlight the cultural significance of these sculptures, which symbolize prosperity, joy, fertility, and protection. The Peruvian Foreign Ministry and Puno authorities have planned similar exhibits in Japan, Singapore, and Jakarta. The exhibition features twenty bulls painted by local Peruvian organizations and Thai artists. The public can visit the exhibition at the fifth floor of Siam Discovery until July 23.
