A press conference will be held at Pheu Thai headquarters on Tuesday regarding the current condition of Thaksin Shinawatra. Thaksin, who is serving an eight-year prison sentence, is receiving medical treatment at the Police General Hospital in Bangkok. The Corrections Department allowed visitor access for the first time on Monday, and Thaksin’s daughter, Paetongtarn, visited him for 40 minutes. Thaksin has been staying on the 14th floor of the hospital, meant for high-ranking police officials. The Corrections Department cited his various health issues, including hypertension and heart disease, as the reason for his transfer.
