Mysterious wild elephant swims across Mekong to Laos every year

A wild elephant has crossed the Mekong River from Thailand into Laos, continuing its annual migration. Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary officials are monitoring the elephant’s movement closely, urging Laotian authorities not to harm it. The elephant’s behavior, crossing the river and exploring the Laotian side, is believed to be in search of food like sugarcane and fruits. This annual journey has been observed for several years between March and April, with the sanctuary focusing on ensuring the elephant’s safety throughout.
