The Move Forward Party (MFP) has called on Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to fulfill his promise of holding a charter referendum. The House of Representatives recently rejected the MFP’s push to expedite a full constitution rewrite, prompting the party to urge the government to prioritize a referendum in their first Cabinet session. The referendum would assess whether the charter should be rewritten and how the responsible body should be chosen. Meanwhile, the Internet Law Reform Dialogue (iLaw) organization has submitted a petition to revise the 2017 constitution, gaining support from over 211,000 signatures.
