More than 10 people were arrested for attempting to breach the Japanese embassy in Seoul during a protest against the release of radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant. The protesters, consisting of university students, attempted to enter the embassy office while shouting slogans condemning the discharge. The police detained them on charges of trespassing and violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act. Seoul has supported Tokyo’s decision to release the treated wastewater, with the Prime Minister criticizing the campaign against it as politically driven and based on fake news.
