Photo: sharp.com The Monkeypox outbreak in Thailand has seen a rapid escalation with 145 new cases reported in just one month, bringing the total tally to 316. The majority of the patients are men who have sexual intercourse with other men, accounting for 85.8% of the cases. Of these, 45.3% are also infected with HIV. Most of the patients are Thai nationals, with 198 residing in Bangkok. There has been a continuous outbreak over the past four months, with a significant increase in cases in August. The World Health Organisation has provided support with a drug called Tecovirimat for emergency cases.
