Four Thai nationals will be charged in a Malaysian court over the discovery of mass graves and suspected human trafficking camps at the Thailand-Malaysia border in 2015. These camps and graves were found on the Thai side, leading to crackdowns on people smugglers and the abandonment of migrants at sea. The four individuals, among ten sought for extradition since 2017, will face charges in Malaysia’s Perlis state. Malaysia has emphasized its commitment to border security and addressing issues of cross-border crime, particularly human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
