In-flight credit card theft hits 80 cases as losses pass 8 million baht

Immigration police have issued a warning about in-flight credit card theft, with over 80 cases and losses exceeding 8 million baht reported. Cases mainly occur on short international flights lasting no more than three hours. Measures based on the “crime triangle” concept are being prepared to reduce opportunities for theft, including proactive public information campaigns at airports. Passengers are advised to take care of their belongings and check them regularly while traveling. It is suggested to keep cards on oneself at all times and utilize card-control features in mobile applications to reduce the risk of theft. A Thai woman was arrested for conspiring with Chinese suspects in credit card theft at onsen establishments in Bangkok, resulting in losses exceeding 200,000 baht for victims.
