Cambodia’s Prime Minister, Hun Sen, has ordered troops and anti-aircraft weapons systems to be deployed to four provinces bordering Vietnam in order to hunt down drones that have allegedly violated the country’s airspace. The drones are believed to be operated by “ethnic insurgents” in Vietnam, although Vietnamese authorities have denied this claim. Hun Sen has called for the drones to be shot down in order to prevent invasion or espionage. Critics argue that Hun Sen may be using this situation to scare voters ahead of the general election in July.
