Hawaii’s Attorney General Anne Lopez has launched an investigation into the handling of wildfires that killed at least 80 people in the state. As residents of Lahaina were allowed back into the town, many found their homes reduced to ashes and expressed anger at the lack of government support. Some lucky residents were able to find their homes intact, but were warned that they may not be safe due to harmful contaminants in the water system. The number of fatalities is expected to increase, and search and rescue teams equipped with cadaver dogs have been deployed.
