The Royal Gazette of Thailand announced the allocation of the number of foreign nationals and stateless persons to be residents of the Kingdom for the year 2023. Each country will not exceed 100 foreign residents, and the limit for stateless persons is set at 50. This allocation follows the Immigration Act of 1979. The government aims to attract foreign investment and labor by facilitating opportunities for residency. They believe supporting foreign individuals with skills and abilities to do business or invest contributes to the country’s economic stability. Emphasis was also placed on fact-checking and preventing misconduct.
