Finland tops World Happiness Report in 2026, Thailand slips 3 places

Finland has retained its title as the world’s happiest country for the ninth consecutive year in the World Happiness Report 2026, while Thailand dropped three places to 52nd. The report, released by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, ranked Costa Rica fourth and highlighted that Finland, Iceland, and Denmark were the top three happiest countries. The rankings were based on responses from the Gallup World Poll in 147 countries, with factors such as GDP per capita, life expectancy, generosity, and perceptions of freedom and corruption taken into account.
