The ONWR held a meeting with various agencies, including the Thai Meteorological Department and the Department of Water Resources, to discuss preparatory measures for the expected drought. The deputy secretary-general of the ONWR emphasized the need for a two-year water management plan, as data suggests the El Nino drought conditions may persist until mid-next year. Thailand Science Research and Innovation also held a conference to discuss water management in light of the El Nino phenomenon.
