Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is appealing against a court order to disclose its findings in the investigation into Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan’s luxury watches. The court also ordered the NACC to release its summary report and the statements given by Prawit to the watchdog. NACC secretary-general Niwatchai Kasemmongkol stated that publishing all the investigative reports could jeopardize the safety of witnesses, making them reluctant to testify in the future. The NACC maintains that it has acted transparently and has no intention of hiding its findings. The case was brought to court by graft-busting crusader Veera Somkwamkid.
