Cameras equipped with sensors have been installed at two major intersections in the city to deter drivers from obstructing zebra crossings. The cameras can capture images of traffic violations, but no legal action will be taken during this pilot phase, except for deliberate red-light violations. The project, proposed by former Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang, aims to ease congestion and ensure smooth pedestrian movement. The system is expected to evolve to control traffic lights based on data obtained from the cameras.
