Activist leads petition opposing non-Thai student admissions policy

A group led by activist Tae Achiwa gathered outside Thailand’s Ministry of Education in Bangkok to submit a letter objecting to the government’s non-Thai student admissions policy for 2025. Tae arrived with supporters from the Thai Mai Thon group and handed officials a petition opposing the announcement. They submitted a list of public signatories, totaling close to 100,000 names. Tae argued against the budget spending to support foreign children, raising concerns about national security and false entitlement claims. The Ministry of Education promised to consider the objection letter, but Tae threatened to escalate the protest if the policy was not suspended quickly.
