YouTube Music is launching a new feature called “Samples,” which is a short-form personalized video feed similar to TikTok. Each clip in the feed gives a peek into the artist, music video, and overall vibe of a recommended song. Users can swipe vertically to discover new music videos and songs. YouTube Music aims to capitalize on the trend of users discovering music through short-form videos. The Samples feed leverages YouTube’s catalog of official music videos and live footage to promote the discovery of long-form video content. This is similar to the discovery feeds introduced by Spotify earlier this year.
