In the latest update to YouTube Music, the app introduces a vertical video feed called Samples, which allows users to quickly sample and discover new music. Located in a new tab at the bottom of the app, Samples presents short 30-second vertical video clips of songs based on the user’s taste profile. The algorithm for Samples aims to strike a balance between familiar and unfamiliar artists, providing a starting point for music discovery. Users can save songs they like to their playlists or access additional controls such as starting a continuous radio station. Despite a few UI issues, Samples proves to be a useful addition to YouTube Music. The feature is now available globally for Android and iOS users.
