Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the platform now known as X has rarely made its executives available for media appearances or comment. However, two X executives recently made rare public appearances, including Musk’s handpicked CEO Linda Yaccarino. During an Australian parliamentary hearing, X’s head of global government affairs Nick Pickles defended the reinstatement of a right-wing influencer who posted child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the platform. This explanation did not convince Australian lawmakers. Yaccarino, in her first video interview, discussed the future of X, the rebrand from Twitter, and working under Musk. She claimed that X is now a “much healthier and safer platform.” However, examples such as the reinstatement of Dom Lucre, who posted illegal CSAM, contradict this claim.
