Sports Interactive announced in 2021 that it would introduce women’s teams in the upcoming Football Manager 2025 game. The studio wanted to ensure the same level of depth for women’s soccer as it does for the men’s game, which required extensive research and changes to the attribute systems, translations, and league rules. Football Manager 2025 will also feature a shift to the Unity game engine, providing improved graphics and user interface tools. Although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the initial revamp plans, the studio is now on track to implement new features faster and allow players to transfer their progress from previous versions.
