Passkeys are a secure and convenient tool for accessing online accounts without the hassle of remembering complex passwords. They consist of two parts – a private key stored on a trusted device and a public key stored where you want to log in. When you want to log in, your device verifies your identity through biometrics or a PIN code, and combines the two keys to create an authentication token. Passkeys are easy to create, inherently secure, and resistant to phishing attacks. Compared to traditional login methods, passkeys offer a simpler and safer user experience. However, not all websites currently support passkeys.
