TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has launched a new music production app called Ripple in closed beta in the US. The app allows users to create and edit audio similar to digital audio workstations using machine learning. Users can sing or hum a melody, which will be turned into an instrumental song. Ripple also features a virtual recording studio for audio editing on mobile devices. Although not directly integrated with TikTok, creators can use Ripple to create background music for their short-form videos. ByteDance plans to add more mobile-friendly tools to the app in the future.
