While the overall early-stage investing market has faced challenges in the past 18 months, pre-seed startups have struggled to raise money. However, there is good news as the pre-seed market is starting to recover, with pre-seed startups using Carta raising $972 million in the second quarter, a 17% increase from the first quarter. Despite this recovery, the number of pre-seed deals has declined for the fourth consecutive quarter. Founder-friendly terms are also becoming less common, making it harder for founders to negotiate favorable deals.
