Meta has introduced new features to enhance parental supervision and ensure safety on its apps, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. On Messenger, parents can now view their teen’s contact lists, messages, time spent on the app, and who can see Messenger Stories. However, they cannot read messages. These tools are currently available in the US, UK, and Canada, with plans to expand to other countries. Instagram has also implemented safety features for parents, including time constraints and restricting tagging and messaging for teens. Meta is working towards giving parents more visibility and control while supporting teens’ online experiences. Related keywords: Meta, parental supervision, app safety.
