Marin Ireland is set to have a big year in 2023 with two buzzy Sundance selections already garnering attention. In the thriller Eileen, she delivers a riveting monologue opposite Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie, while in Birth/Rebirth, she is the leading lady in a darkly hilarious twist on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Ireland found chemistry with co-star Judy Reyes during rehearsals and was thrilled to step into the role of Rose. The film deals with death, gore, and ob-gyn matters, presenting challenges for Ireland who doesn’t do well with gore. Despite the difficulties, Ireland found the experience rewarding and embraced the unpredictable nature of the industry.
