Emergency SOS via Satellite, a feature introduced with the iPhone 14 models, recently proved to be a life-saving tool for a hiker injured on a trail. Juana Reyes was hiking in a remote area of the Trail Canyon Falls in the Angeles National Forest when she fell and broke her leg. With no cellular service available, Reyes used her iPhone 14’s SOS satellite feature to contact authorities. The Los Angeles County Fire Department Air Operations Section received the call and successfully airlifted Reyes to safety. This marks the third rescue conducted with the help of the iPhone’s emergency satellite feature.
