The Photos app in iOS 17 has a feature called Visual Lookup that can identify various symbols, including laundry symbols found on clothing tags. When a user takes a photo of a tag with laundry symbols, the app highlights them and provides translations when tapped. Apple sources the laundry instructions from the International Organization for Standardization’s Online Browsing Platform. Visual Lookup also recognizes car symbols. Other features in the iOS 17 Photos app include pet recognition, one-tap crop, animated stickers from Live Photos, and recipe searches based on food pictures.
