Lunar technology company Intuitive Machines is aiming to become the first private American company to land a spacecraft on the moon. It plans to launch its IM-1 lunar lander mission on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, starting on November 15. Intuitive Machines, along with two other companies, was awarded contracts by NASA to deliver payloads to the lunar surface. Pittsburgh-based Astrobotic, which was expected to launch its lander first, has faced delays with its contracted launch vehicle. Intuitive Machines, which recently went public, is also diversifying its revenue streams by submitting proposals in defense and aerospace.
