On Wednesday, some Bambu users woke up to find that their 3D printers had unexpectedly produced unwanted prints overnight, raising concerns about fire risks. The issue stemmed from a cloud server outage, which caused extra MQTT commands to be sent without checking for existing prints. Bambu is now implementing firmware updates to address the issue. The lidar-equipped X1C printer will confirm if a printed model has been removed before each print, while the P1 series printers will remind users to clean the plate. Bambu is also introducing temperature monitoring and the automatic discarding of outdated print requests. Despite the delay in implementing the updates, Bambu is taking full responsibility and offering assistance to repair damaged devices.
