Twitter CEO Elon Musk is blaming the recent limitations on the platform on “data scrapers & system manipulation.” Unverified accounts can now only view 600 posts per day, while new unverified accounts are limited to 300 posts. Verified accounts can still read up to 6,000 posts per day. Musk did not provide further details on what “new” means in this context. The restrictions were introduced after Twitter began blocking access for non-logged-in users, due to aggressive scraping by numerous organizations. Musk stated that it should take less than 1 hour and 9 minutes for MrBeast to view 6,000 posts.
