iPhone users in Australia can now receive hyperlocal next-hour precipitation forecasts and notifications through the Weather app, thanks to an update from Apple. The feature, previously available in the United States, provides minute-by-minute rainfall expectations and can send push notifications if rain is expected within the next hour. Apple acquired the weather app Dark Sky in 2020 and integrated its features into the revamped Weather app. The app also offers high-resolution radar, next 10-day hourly forecasts, and is powered by data from national weather services.
