Apple is introducing an external battery pack for its upcoming Vision Pro mixed reality headset, which has been nicknamed the “Magic Battery.” The battery pack, previously referred to as the “MagSafe Battery Pack,” provides two hours of tethered power for the headset. It can be attached to the left side of the Vision Pro headset via a woven braided power cable and is designed to fit in a pocket for easy portability. The Vision Pro headset itself is set to be released in early 2024 and includes high-end features such as 4K micro-OLED displays, 12 cameras, and two Apple silicon processors.
